Parents-Teachers Committees Established Across Balochistan Schools Under EU and UNICEF Support

The School Education Department, with the support of UNICEF and the European Union, has successfully initiated the establishment of Parents-Teachers and School Management Committees (PTSMCs) across the province.

A total of 1,068 schools in various districts of Balochistan have formed these committees, comprising more than 11,000 members who were elected through a fair and transparent process. This step marks a significant milestone in strengthening transparency, accountability, and community participation within the education system of the province.

These committees will play a vital role in monitoring school performance, ensuring effective utilization of resources, promoting student enrollment and attendance, and helping resolve local education-related challenges. The initiative aims to foster stronger collaboration between parents, teachers, and local communities, providing a solid foundation for the improvement of educational standards.

The Director of Schools has appointed District Education Officers as focal persons in all districts to facilitate the formation, activation, and problem-solving role of these committees at the local level.In this regard, members of the local Parents-Teachers School Management Committee at Government Boys High School Margha Zakriazai in Tehsil Nan Sahib, District Pishin, took oath for a three-year term.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by parents, tribal elders, government representatives, and officials of the Education Department.

The Government of Balochistan remains committed to empowering local communities in the education sector, promoting transparent and inclusive governance, and ensuring sustainable improvements in the quality of education across the province.
