Three suspects killed in CTD operation in Pishin, security personnel injured
Quetta: Three suspects, including a man wanted in multiple terrorism-related cases, were killed during a counter-terrorism operation in the Pishin district of Balochistan on Monday, officials said.
According to police sources, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), with support from the Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), conducted a raid in the Killi Karbala area of Pishin to arrest Sanaullah Agha, who was reportedly wanted in several terrorism cases. During the operation, the suspects allegedly opened fire on law enforcement personnel.
As a result of the exchange of fire, three ATF personnel were injured. The injured officials were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. Hospital authorities said the condition of the injured personnel is stable.
Security officials said that CTD and ATF personnel returned fire in self-defense, leading to the killing of Sanaullah Agha and his two brothers, who were present at the location. The operation continued for some time to ensure the area was fully secured.
Authorities confirmed that a clearance operation is still underway in and around the area to rule out the presence of any additional suspects or potential threats. Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the locality as a precautionary measure.
Officials stated that Sanaullah Agha was wanted in multiple cases related to terrorism and other serious offenses. However, further details regarding the cases were not immediately disclosed.
Security operations against militant networks have continued in different parts of Balochistan in recent months, as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to maintain peace and prevent acts of violence. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking action against elements involved in militancy while ensuring public safety.
Residents of the area were advised to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during the ongoing clearance operation. Further updates are expected once the operation is completed and official statements are issued.
