Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Germany has recorded steady growth in the ongoing fiscal year, driven by an increase in both exports to Germany and imports from the European nation. Official figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) show that during the first four months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s exports to Germany rose by 2.39%, while imports from Germany increased by 2.20%.
According to the latest data, Pakistan earned $594.29 million in foreign exchange through exports to Germany between July and October. This reflects an improvement compared to $580.40 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year. In October 2025 alone, Pakistan’s exports to Germany were recorded at $148.59 million, rising from $140.04 million in September, although slightly lower than $152.38 million in October last year.
For perspective, Pakistan’s total exports to Germany for the full fiscal year 2025 had reached $1.690 billion, showing Germany’s importance as one of Pakistan’s leading European trade partners.
On the import side, Pakistan spent $294.01 million on goods purchased from Germany during the first four months of the fiscal year. This marks a 2.20% increase compared to $287.66 million spent in the same period last year. In October, imports from Germany stood at $76.18 million, nearly unchanged from $76.71 million in September, and higher than $69.18 million recorded in October of the previous year.
In the complete fiscal year 2025, Pakistan’s imports from Germany had amounted to $879.52 million, reflecting consistent demand for German machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products.
The growth in bilateral trade highlights the expanding economic relationship between the two countries, with Germany remaining a key export market for Pakistani textiles, apparel, leather goods, and sportswear. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to rely on high-quality German industrial goods to support various sectors, including manufacturing, energy, and healthcare.
With both exports and imports showing upward trends, analysts believe the Pakistan–Germany trade partnership is likely to strengthen further, supported by stable demand, improved economic activity, and growing business-to-business cooperation.
