Balochistan: coordinated attacks in Jhal Magsi, Panjgur, and Quetta kill 13, injure 19

Deputy Commissioner Jhal Magsi, Syed Rahmat Shah, told that armed men attacked Kotra Police Station early Monday morning in Jhal Magsi, in an assault that lasted over two hours. The attack left one child dead, while three police personnel, including SHO Mir Hassan Sapra and two civilians were injured. Security forces successfully repelled the attackers after heavy firing.

In Panjgur, multiple homes in Khuda-e-Abadan, Sarawan, and Garmakan areas were targeted in coordinated attacks. Five civilians were killed, including three at the house of Arshad Baloch and two others were injured. The attackers set fire to rooms and vehicles before fleeing, security official told. Security forces launched counter-operations, killing six of the assailants, whose bodies were shifted to Panjgur District Hospital. The attacks caused panic as heavy firing and explosions continued for several hours.

Quetta also witnessed grenade and firing attacks in Sariab Road and Nohsar areas. One person was killed and 12 others, including police personnel, were injured during the incidents. Meanwhile, in Mastung and Kalat divisions, security forces recovered around 320kg of explosives from bridges on the railway and Quetta-Karachi highway, foiling sabotage attempts. Due to prevailing security concerns, train services from Quetta were also suspended.
