Balochistan Food Authority Busts Fake Labeling Network of Bottled Water and Drinks

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) exposed a major fake labeling racket of bottled water and drinks. The operation took place at Khizi Chowk, Eastern Bypass in Quetta.

The BFA team caught an illegal label sealing unit red-handed. Officials sealed the site on the spot. Thousands of fake labels and empty plastic bottles were recovered.

Inspection revealed that the fake labels were supplied to different units. These labels were being used to produce unsafe bottled water and juices in Quetta. Officials confirmed that the products carried misleading claims about nutritional facts.

The unit had no license, lab reports, or legal documents. Chemicals and minerals were stored in direct sunlight against safety standards. Authorities seized all material and launched further investigation.

BFA Director General Waqar Khursheed Alam said fake labeling of water and drinks is a direct threat to public health. He stressed that BFA follows a zero-tolerance policy against such practices.

BFA Director Operations, Muhammad Riaz Nasir, who supervised the raid, said the fake labeling network was operating in an organized manner. He added that the timely action of BFA exposed the entire system.

The BFA confirmed that its teams are on constant alert. Strict action will continue against those producing substandard and fake food and beverages.
