Quetta: Asghar Khan Achakzai, provincial chief of the Awami National Party, paid tribute to the martyrs of September 2 in Quetta. He condemned the deadly attack that shook the province and targeted innocent civilians.
Achakzai said that despite repeated oppression, his party has always tried to move forward in dialogue with the state. He warned that peaceful land should not be taken for granted. “Consider it your good fortune or your misfortune,” he said, highlighting the fragility of security in Balochistan.
He criticized the current situation in the province, saying that local authorities behave as if they own the land. “Today, here, a watchman considers himself the master,” Achakzai stated. He warned that bloodshed is spreading unchecked across the province.
Achakzai also directly criticized the provincial government, saying it has no real authority. He said the government’s failure to ensure safety and justice emboldens attackers. “On September 2, an attempt was made to silence the voice of Balochistan,” he added.
He stressed the importance of accountability and protection for civilians. Achakzai said that the people of Balochistan deserve safety, justice, and respect for their rights. He urged authorities to act immediately to prevent further bloodshed.
The Awami National Party leader concluded by vowing that the memory of the September 2 martyrs would continue to inspire the fight for justice. He reminded the government that negligence and oppression only deepen anger and resentment among the people.
