The Government of Balochistan has decided to launch an extensive crackdown against more than 300 foreign-based leaders, commanders, and operatives of banned militant organizations, tightening the noose around groups involved in terrorist activities across the province. The decision was taken during a high-level security meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday.
According to official briefings, the crackdown will target top leadership of banned outfits including BLA, BLF, UBA, BRG, and Lashkar-e-Balochistan, along with their local facilitators. The Chief Minister directed that prosecution of all registered cases against these groups be accelerated under the guidelines of the Provincial Action Plan.
The provincial government also approved steps to fast-track Interpol Red Notices against foreign-based militant leadership through close coordination with the Federal Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials presented evidence, including call recordings and communication links between overseas commanders and domestic facilitators.
The meeting resolved to launch an immediate and comprehensive operation against all elements—within and outside Pakistan—found involved in terrorist activities. “Those who spill blood on Balochistan’s soil will not be allowed to hide anywhere in the world,” said Chief Minister Bugti, emphasizing that terrorist networks disguised under political covers will be exposed internationally.
The Chief Minister instructed law-enforcement agencies to intensify actions under newly framed counter-terrorism laws, and directed the Home Department to further activate the dedicated cell operating under the Provincial Action Plan. He ordered that a complete list of terrorist leaders and their facilitators be prepared, with all available evidence added to the official record.
He further stated that the compiled record will be taken to international forums through the federal government for robust legal action. “The elimination of all elements challenging the writ of the state has now entered a decisive phase,” Bugti noted.
The Chief Minister reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, foreign-sponsored agendas, and networks destabilizing Balochistan. “We will ensure the safety of our people, the peace of our province, and the dignity of the state—without compromise,” he added.
