Quetta to host key Balochistan Apex Committee meeting today

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are scheduled to arrive in Quetta today to attend an important meeting of the Balochistan Apex Committee amid ongoing concerns over the province’s security situation.

The high-level meeting will be held at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Quetta and will be chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, senior civil and military officials, and heads of provincial security institutions are expected to participate in the session.

According to official sources, the meeting will conduct a detailed review of the overall law and order situation in Balochistan, including recent security challenges and counterterrorism measures being implemented across the province. Participants are also expected to discuss coordination between federal and provincial authorities to improve security and stability in sensitive districts.

Important policy and security-related decisions are likely to be taken during the meeting as authorities continue efforts to strengthen peace and protect infrastructure and public safety in the province.

The visit of the prime minister and senior military leadership comes at a time when security remains a top priority in Balochistan. Officials say the apex committee meeting will focus on strengthening intelligence coordination, reviewing ongoing operations, and discussing future strategies for long-term peace in the region.
