The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Balochistan government is strictly implementing the federal policy on the repatriation of foreigners. He said Afghan refugees returning home are being extended all possible support and assistance from the provincial administration.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti stressed that the repatriation process would be gradual, dignified, and rooted in humanitarian considerations. “Our traditions are based on compassion and respect. We regard Afghan women as our mothers and sisters, and I have directed officials to ensure that elderly people, women, and children face no hardship during this process,” he noted.
The Chief Minister informed the Afghan diplomat that clear instructions have been issued to administrative officers to provide special care to vulnerable groups. He added that to address local-level challenges and to ensure immediate coordination, the provincial government has appointed a senior officer as focal person for refugee matters.
Bugti said the government of Balochistan is providing facilities and support under the spirit of humanitarian responsibility, adding that the dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees is in the mutual interest of both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
