The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed 10 terrorists in a major operation in Quetta’s suburban area of Aghbarak, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, CTD personnel launched the raid after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area.
As the team reached the hideout, the terrorists opened fire, prompting retaliatory fire from CTD which left 10 militants dead.A large cache of weapons and explosives was also recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.
Police added that those killed were involved in multiple attacks on security forces and other subversive activities in the province.
Authorities confirmed that further investigations are underway to identify the network and facilitators linked to the group.
