Quetta: ANF Seizes 4kg Narcotics Near University in Targeted Crackdown

The Anti-Narcotics Force has intensified its operations in Quetta, targeting drug suppliers operating around schools and universities. Officials say the growing presence of narcotics near campuses has raised serious concerns for student safety.

In Quetta, ANF teams acted on intelligence and moved quickly on Airport Road near the University. They stopped two men riding a motorcycle. During the search, officers recovered 3 kilograms of hashish and 1 kilogram of ice (crystal meth). The suspects admitted that they had been selling drugs to students in nearby educational institutions. ANF arrested both men and launched further investigations.

While Quetta remained the main focus of the latest actions, ANF also conducted an operation on RCD Road in Hub. Officers intercepted a vehicle near a factory and seized 18 kilograms of hashish hidden inside it. Two suspects were arrested at the scene.

According to ANF officials, drug traffickers have been increasingly targeting young people. The force is expanding surveillance around campuses and tightening checks on suspected supply routes. Officers say they aim to dismantle networks distributing narcotics in urban centres, especially in and around Quetta.

All arrested suspects now face charges under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997. Cases have been registered, and ANF teams are working to trace the sources and potential collaborators linked to the seized drugs.

Authorities warned that the spread of synthetic drugs like ice is a serious threat to students. They added that more operations will follow as part of the ongoing campaign.

ANF emphasized that it will continue aggressive action across the region to protect students and curb drug trafficking near educational institutions.
