Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that significant progress is being made in the restoration of non-functional government schools across the province, with Gwadar district emerging as a leading example.
In a statement, the chief minister said that Gwadar has become the first district in Balochistan where no government school remains non-functional. He added that all public sector schools in the district are now operational.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that officials of the Balochistan Education Department have formally confirmed in writing that there are no closed government schools in Gwadar. He said that the relevant authorities have also issued official certificates verifying the functionality of all schools in the district.
According to the chief minister, Gwadar has become the first district in the province with all 313 government primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools fully functional. He termed this achievement a major milestone in the provincial government’s education reforms.
The chief minister appreciated the performance of the Gwadar district administration and education department officials, praising their efforts and commitment. He said their hard work has contributed significantly to achieving the government’s education targets.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated his government’s commitment to the people of Balochistan, stating that no government school will remain closed in the province and no child will be left out of school in the near future.
The provincial government has been working to revive non-functional schools as part of broader efforts to improve access to education and strengthen the public education system across Balochistan.
