Quetta: Police in Balochistan have intensified operations against criminal elements across the province under a special anti-crime campaign, resulting in the arrest of hundreds of suspects and the recovery of weapons, drugs, and stolen vehicles.
According to a spokesperson for Balochistan Police, law enforcement agencies carried out a series of coordinated operations targeting proclaimed offenders, fugitives, and individuals involved in various criminal activities. During the crackdown, authorities detained a total of 718 suspects, including 295 absconders and 402 proclaimed offenders wanted in different cases.
Police officials said significant quantities of weapons and ammunition were also seized during the operations. The recovered weapons include 122 pistols and revolvers, four Kalashnikov rifles, 91 magazines, and 594 rounds of ammunition, which were taken into custody during raids conducted in multiple districts.
The spokesperson added that police teams also succeeded in rescuing 10 kidnapped individuals during the course of the operations, highlighting the effectiveness of the campaign against organized criminal networks.
In addition, authorities recovered five stolen vehicles and 39 motorcycles, which had been reported stolen in different parts of the province. Officials said efforts are underway to return the recovered vehicles to their rightful owners after legal procedures.
The crackdown also targeted drug traffickers and narcotics dealers operating in the region. According to the police spokesperson, 111 suspects were arrested in operations specifically aimed at dismantling drug networks.
During these actions, police recovered large quantities of narcotics, including 743.678 kilograms of hashish (charas), 11.630 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 10.665 kilograms of opium. The seized drugs have been taken into police custody, and cases have been registered against the accused under relevant laws.
Balochistan Police said the ongoing campaign aims to improve law and order, curb criminal activities, and ensure public safety throughout the province. Authorities emphasized that operations against criminals, drug dealers, and organized crime groups will continue in order to maintain peace and security.
Police officials have also urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report suspicious activities to help eliminate crime from the region.
