ANF Intensifies Anti-Drug Operations Across Balochistan, Major Seizures Made in Gwadar and Pishin

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking networks across Balochistan, launching a series of high-impact operations aimed at curbing the flow of narcotics through the province’s coastal and border regions. The operations, many of which were conducted near populated areas and educational institutions, reflect the ANF’s growing focus on protecting youth and dismantling drug routes running through Balochistan.

One of the largest recoveries was made near Pump Bazaar in District Gwadar, where ANF teams discovered a massive narcotics consignment hidden inside a plastic storage tank. The seized drugs included 71 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice), 13 kilograms of heroin, and 10 kilograms of charas, all carefully concealed to avoid detection. Officials believe the consignment was part of a larger network using the coastal region as a transit corridor for high-value narcotics.

In a separate and even more significant operation, ANF personnel intercepted a major stash near Hameed Cross in Saranan, Pishin, recovering an astonishing 2,160 kilograms of Garda charas. The scale of the seizure highlights the increasing use of Balochistan’s border districts as storage and smuggling points due to their proximity to international trafficking routes.

Another raid in Nagore Sharif, District Gwadar, led to the recovery of 8 kilograms of weed, further exposing the presence of multiple drug networks operating across the province.

All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and investigations are underway to identify the handlers, transporters, and financiers behind the operations.

ANF officials stated that Balochistan remains a critical front in Pakistan’s fight against narcotics due to its vast terrain and strategic location. They reiterated that targeted operations—especially around vulnerable communities and educational institutions—will continue with greater intensity to safeguard the province’s youth and disrupt organized drug trafficking across the region.
